About
Forty Mile Rail (“FMR”) is located in Foremost, Alberta east of Highway 4. FMR owns and operates 40 miles / 64 kilometres of rail line and a number of storage spur lines spanning from Foremost to Stirling, AB. The western tip of the FMR line is located ~30 min from the US border, servicing transportation and storage of various products and resources.
We operate our own engines for easy pick-up / drop-off from the main CP rail line to keep products moving 24/7/365 which allows FMR to transport, offload and store all types of product(s) including dangerous goods.
FMR has worked with Vestas on transporting and storing over $100 million worth of wind turbine parts. With these parts weighing over 75 tons and stretching over 130 feet long. 40 Mile has also stored tens of thousands of railcars and moved tens of millions of dollars worth of agricultural products.

Market Opportunity
With 40 Mile Rail being located right off the main CPR line this short track allows producers and distributors to market, move, and store their products anywhere in the world.
- there is currently capacity for storage of ~2,500 empty cars with the potential to expand by 4-5x given the significant land position
- Forty Mile currently sits on a C$3MM FEDERAL Government business development grant IN HAND for significant future expansion.
- The longest “short line” contiguous rail opportunity in all of Alberta
- Loaded Railcar Expansion Project: C$4-6MM all-in capital costs to expand loaded rail storage by up to ~300 cars which would be fit to contain all petroleum products and/or dangerous goods

Services
Own a 13-acre storage yard directly offsetting the FMR rail-line in Foremost, AB to store any types of trailers, trucks, tanks or equipment etc.
Forty Mile Rail owns the land on either side of the track. Giving us the ability to cater to any storage or siding needs.
Railcar Storage
Forty Mile Rail has experience in rail storage of various products. These products including:
- Windmill components
- Agricultural products
- Chemicals and Residue Last Contained Dangerous Goods
- On-site railcar cleaning available
- Fertilizer delivery with loading and offloading facilities provided
Main Focus
Forty Mile Rail’s main focus is to establish itself as a reliable delivery agent for its customer’s products to the main line and from there, these products will move to markets – all over the world. With grain, pulse and agriculture products being the starter for Forty Mile Rail over the years we have expanded into oil & gas, renewables, chemicals and fertilizer markets.
